Coy Adkins - Joined the University of
Arkansas' softball coaching staff in June 2011. Adkins assumes the
role of pitching coach for the Razorbacks after a successful
two-year stint as volunteer coach for Florida's softball program. While at Florida, Adkins worked as first base coach, while also overseeing the outfield positions and assisting on offensive coaching. The 2010 Florida team hit a then-Southeastern Conference-record 109 home runs. The Gators reset the record in 2011, smacking a nation-leading 124 home runs. Adkins assisted the Gators to a berth in the 2010 and 2011 Women's College World Series and an overall record of 105-23 (.820) during his stay. Florida was national runner-up in 2011. Adkins brings 11 years of softball coaching experience to the Razorbacks, including experience as a state championship-winning head coach on the Florida high school level. He led Wewahitchka High School to the 2008 Class 2A state championship, compiling a 27-2 overall record. As assistant head coach, Adkins helped the squad to the 2007 Class 2A title. In 2008, the squad hit a state-record 43 home runs. In his six year head and assistant coach career at Wewahitchka, the softball team advanced to the state playoffs every year while winning five regional championships. Adkins compiled a 162-34 (.827) overall record at Wewahitchka. |

Jim Inzana - Enters his fourth season as an assistant coach at Virginia Wesleyan, working primarily with the pitching staff, infielders and hitters. Inzana has 20 years of softball coaching experience in Hawaii, California, South Carolina, and Virginia. Inzana has accumulated more that 600 victories between high school and travel teams; 2003 travel team placed 14th nationally and won the Virginia state championship in 2006. Lady Vol, Hall of Fame pitcher Adrienne "Buffy" Walker Cherry competed from 1995-99. An imposing figure in the circle, the Carlsbad, New Mexico native pitched the first no-hitter in Lady Vol softball history in 1996. She was named to the 1997 NFCA All-South Region Team and the 1997 All-SEC squad. Walker is still ranked in the top 10 in the UT record books in a number of statistical categories including third in Tennessee single season ERA, 0.71 (1997); third in complete games (61); fourth in solo shutouts (16) and fifth in career ERA (1.97), career appearances (108), career starts (87) and career wins (54). Walker received her B.S. in communications with a minor in business administration in 2000. She is still involved in the game working as a pitching instructor and with youth sport camps in Suwanee, Georgia. |

Willemssen - In growing up in Waterloo, Iowa, I was the
first female to play in the boys baseball program. I was a 4 sport
athlete in high school and was an all-state player in volleyball,
basketball, and softball. I subsequently played softball at the
University of Iowa, where I earned a B.S. in Physical Education. I'm
currently the head coach of 18u Glory Gold, an ASA junior Olympic
gold team and at Lee HS in Springfield plus head varsity coaching
experience at Chantilly, and Episcopal HS's. I'm also a certified
tester for the Center for Sports Skill Measurement and Improvement,
one of the nation's most innovative leaders in softball and baseball
training. |
